Planning board approves 2 applications, tables 1 - Boothbay Register

On July 20, the Boothbay Planning Board approved two out of three applications. The board conditionally approved a Kennebunkport couple’s request for demolishing a structure on Murray Hill Road. The couple plan on building a new home in the same location. Michael Tomko of Create Estates represented owners Mary and Robert Woodman. The lone condition requires Tomko to update the survey showing both proposed and developed acres. The property is zoned East Boothbay Village and shoreline overlay district.

The second application was also conditionally approved. The board approved a Windham couple’s proposal for repairing, updating and increasing the footprint of the non-conforming structure. Peter and Mary-Frances Gleason submitted the application for their Back River Road property. The Gleasons were represented by their son, Ben Gleason, a licensed architect. The applicants must submit a stamped survey drawing showing the new stairs. The addition would reflect a 30% expansion for a non-conforming structure. The property is in the water reservoir protection district, shoreland overlay and watershed overlay zones.

The third application was tabled because applicants John and Sheila Moran of Annapolis, Maryland couldn’t attend. The Morans are seeking approval for constructing a 14-foot by 17-foot deck onto a non-conforming structure. The property is on Ocean Point Road in a residential district zone.

The board meets next at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17 in the conference room.
