GREEN BAY (WLUK) – A downtown Green Bay site that has been looked at with potential for several years has the eye of a new developer.

Green Bay's Redevelopment Authority granted a six-month planning option to Milwaukee developer New Land Enterprises for the parking lot located at the corner of Adams and Cherry Streets.

The company has won nine of 11 requests for proposals in Milwaukee and has completed 27 projects, according to Tim Gokhman, New Land’s managing director.

City officials went down to Milwaukee to tour some of New Land's previous work.

“It's really no exaggeration to say they are one of the premier developers in the state of Wisconsin, doing some really interesting work down in Milwaukee,” said Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich.

They also brought the company to Green Bay to showcase what the city has to offer.

“What we saw downtown Green Bay was absolutely fantastic,” said Gokhman. “The scale, the urban grid, the proximity to water, the restaurants that are coming in, the activation along the river walk is one of the best I've ever seen.”

Company officials didn't share what they are considering for the Adams Street lot.

The six-month option allows it time to come up with a plan.
