HRSA announces funding opportunity for Teaching Health Center Planning and Development Program - American Dental Association

The Health Resources and Services Administration is announcing funding opportunities through the new Teaching Health Center Planning and Development Program.

The purpose of the program is to establish new accredited community-based dental residency programs in general or pediatric dentistry to address shortages in the dental workforce and challenges faced by rural and underserved communities, according to HRSA.

Community-based ambulatory patient care centers that operate accredited primary care residency programs are eligible to apply. This includes:

• Federally qualified health centers.
• Community mental health centers.
• Entities receiving funds under Title X of the Public Health Service Act.
• Rural health clinics.
• Health centers operated by the Indian Health Service, an Indian tribe or tribal organization, or an urban Indian organization.

To learn about eligibility and to apply for the Teaching Health Center Planning and Development Program, visit HRSA.gov. Applications are due by Dec. 12.
