Syracuse, N.Y. -- Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon has appointed former state fair director Troy Waffner to lead the county planning department as it tries to guide the growth and development expected from Micron Technology’s planned chip fabs.
Waffner, 51, of DeWitt, now serves as CEO of the Central New York SPCA. His appointment as county planning director is scheduled to take effect July 15, subject to approval by the county legislature. The minimum salary for the job is $105,000.
