Planning continues for proposed North Ridgeville town center - cleveland.com

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio -- On Dec. 6, the North Ridgeville Master Plan Steering Committee will again discuss plans for the city’s proposed town center, according to Kim Lieber, the city’s director of planning and development.

“At that meeting, recommendations for land use, housing and the town center will all be discussed by the committee members,” Lieber said.

“After that, our consultant and staff team will be making changes requested by the committee, and then we will have a final round of public engagement so we can solicit community feedback.”

At this point, there is no fleshed-out idea for the town center, she noted, but “by Dec. 6, we will have recommendations and much more to discuss, and after (that) we will be putting out a draft plan to the community for them to respond and to react to.”

Mayor Kevin Corcoran added: “The idea of a town center is part of our master plan process that is close to wrapping up. Once complete and adopted by council, we will take the next steps to fleshing out a plan for the town center, including asking for proposals from developers.

“We will communicate the process with the community as we move forward.”

Lieber said the draft plan will include amenities, cost, mobility, transportation and leadership. The committee hopes to finish the planning process by early 2024.

However, she remarked that a town center is years away due to “other considerations that may be necessary in the next several years.”

As to the possible location for the town center, Lieber said, “Generally, it will be somewhere where the city hall is located and can include surrounding properties between Center Ridge Road and Bainbridge Road.”

All in all, she sounded enthusiastic, saying the plan “will be creating a vibrant and walkable, mixed-use town center.”
